An automated solution was required for an existing laminating machine to reliably and continuously equip pallets with protective sheets. The system had to process different cardboard formats and be seamlessly integrated into the existing production process. In addition, refilling the magazine was to be designed ergonomically and simply.
Our solution
BKLS developed a fully automatic sheet feeder to supply pallets with protective sheets. The system was integrated directly into the existing laminating machine and operates with a pneumatic 2-axis system.
Using a vacuum gripper plate, the cardboard sheets are automatically removed from the magazine and precisely placed on the pallet. For maximum flexibility, the system can process various sheet formats as well as EURO, Chep, and US pallets. An additional axis system supports the operator in the ergonomic loading of the magazine.

The sheet feeder enables a reliable and automated supply of pallets with protective sheets within the laminating process. Manual handling processes are reduced and process reliability is significantly increased. At the same time, the flexible processing of different cardboard and pallet formats ensures high adaptability in everyday production.
